The World AIDS day 2023 commemoration started with a Marathon from MG Marg, Gangtok. The marathon was flagged off by Dr. Deki Wangmu Phempu, Project Director, Sikkim SACS and Marathon Man Shri Amar Subba, followed by various Musical Events by renowned artists in the evening.
The event was organized by Sikkim Drug Users Forum (SDUF), supported by Sikkim SACS.

Sikkim SACS joins the rest of the country to observe the cleanliness drive
“SWACHHATA HI SEVA” as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on the eve of his birth anniversary on 2nd October. The team led by PD, SSACS Dr. Deki Wangmu Phempu visited Children’s Home at Bojoghari on 1st October and conducted the massive cleanliness drive. It was also supported by representatives from TI Partners.

The Executive Committee Meeting of Sikkim SACS was successfully conducted today under the Chairmanship of President, EC cum Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Sikkim, Shri A.B.Karki. The meeting also had the presence of members of the Committee along with TI NGOs.

“Zuventus Healthcare Limited’s generous support of Rs. 1,50,000 empowers Stars Of Hope in providing Nutritional Aid to HIV/AIDS Patients.”
On September 19, 2023, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed, forging a partnership between Stars Of Hope (SOH), Sikkim State AIDS Control Society (SSACS) and Zuventus Healthcare Limited at the Office of CMO, Gangtok District.
This collaborative MoU between Zuventus Healthcare Limited, the Funding Partner; Stars Of Hope, the Implementing Partner; and Sikkim State AIDS Control Society (SSACS), the Supporting Partner, signifies the unity of these three vital stakeholders in their collective mission to empower HIV/AIDS patients in their battle against the virus through the provision of Nutritional Kits.
The MoU signing ceremony witnessed the presence of key dignitaries, including Dr. Tempo Gyaltsen Tshechutharpa, CMO of Gangtok District; Mr. Vinay Chaturvedi, Plant Head of Zuventus; Dr. Deki Wangmu Phempu, Project Director of SSACS; Mr. Bikash Thapa, Chairman of Stars Of Hope; Mr. Kuldeep Singh, HR Head of Zuventus; and Mr. Santosh Gupta, Senior Executive-HR of Zuventus.
During the event, Zuventus Healthcare Limited presented a cheque of Rs. 1,50,000 (Rupees One Lakh Fifty Thousand Only) to Stars Of Hope under their SCR Scheme for the Nutritional Support of HIV/AIDS Patients.
Stars Of Hope wholeheartedly thanks Zuventus Healthcare Limited for their invaluable support in this noble cause and extends appreciation to Sikkim State AIDS Control Society for their unwavering dedication and service to the state.

HIV is a global issue and hence addressing the issues by engaging youths through various activities is the need of an hour. Under the aegis of NACO India and support from Red Ribbon Clubs of Sikkim & The Birds and Bees Talk , Sikkim SACS successfully conducted RED RUN, a theme based marathon with over 500 participants from various schools and colleges in Namchi District.

Namchi, South Sikkim : With the theme “YOUTH FOR HIV/AIDS” Sikkim State AIDS Control Society and Department Of Health and Family Welfare Government Of Sikkim successfully organised RED RUN under the banner of Sikkim Youth Fest 2023-24 .

The marathon was organised in two categories male and female in which Riya Tamang , Arpana Lepcha , Lalita Khaling stood first , second and third position respectively. Whereas in male category Nimsang Limboo, Mustak Tamang , Rewas Rai stood first , second and third position respectively.

Mr. Phoor Tsering Lepcha, AD Youth Affairs attended the ongoing training at State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) as one of the resource person to impart training on HIV/AIDS and the importance of Red Ribbon Club (RRC) in academic institutions. 21 Nodal Teachers of Adolescent Education Programme (AEP) from three districts (Mangan, Gangtok and Pakyong District) were trained

Rainbow Hills Welfare Association with support from Sikkim State AIDS Control Society established “SAMPARK” an LGBTQIA+ Counselling Centre at Arithang, Gangtok today. The centre is part of the Community Peer Led Intervention (CPLI) Program which aims to create awareness and prevent HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) amongst High Risk Groups (HRGs) especially Men seeking men (MSM) and Transgender group.
The programme was attended by Shri Arun Upreti, Hon’ble Speaker Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Government of Sikkim as the Chief Guest. Additional Advocate General
