Special assembly organised by the Red Ribbon Club

On 2nd March 2026, PM Shri Pelling Senior Secondary School conducted a special assembly organised by the Red Ribbon Club captains to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS and promote a stigma free environment.

The captain shared key facts about HIV, clarifying that it does not spread through casual contact like hugging, sharing food, shaking hands, or sitting together. The session emphasised that misinformation and fear often lead to discrimination, and encouraged students to be informed, compassionate, and supportive.

The assembly highlighted the importance of open conversations and proper awareness, especially as HIV cases are increasing in our region. Students pledged to help build an understanding and stigma free community.
