Sensitization Program on HIV/AIDS and HIV/AIDS (Prevention and Control) Act, 2017

A sensitization program on HIV/AIDS and the HIV/AIDS (Prevention and Control) Act, 2017, was organized on 5th May 2025 at Government Senior Secondary School, Tadong. The session witnessed active participation from 120 students and teachers.

The program aimed to enhance awareness and promote a healthy, stigma-free environment regarding HIV/AIDS. Key topics covered included:

Four modes of HIV transmission

Prevention strategies, including:

The importance of condom use

Safe sex practices

Needle safety and avoiding shared injecting equipment

Stigma reduction and the importance of social support

Rights and protections under the HIV/AIDS (Prevention and Control) Act, 2017

The participants engaged actively throughout the session, which fostered a more informed and empathetic understanding of the challenges faced by individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
